In Madison County, I'm getting ready for summer training, "Are You the NEXT Madison County Technology Idol?" We have about 35 workshops planned for June and July, from Digital Storytelling all the way to STI stuff. PLUS, I'm doing first level of iSafe training with one teacher from each school these last couple of days of May. My summer is BUSY! I'll be at AETC and NECC. Can some of us get together at AETC and talk again? Is anyone going to the AETA session on Tuesday? Could we get together late on Tuesday or Wednesday? I hate that we haven't followed through with our plans. I know that I dropped the ball on my part, and I hope that you guys have been just as busy as me so that I don't feel so guilty <smile>. How can we share and help each other in our busy schedules?

I'm busy getting ready for summer training and AETC. My summer topics are: Video Editing Workshop (3 days), Blogging 101, PowerPoint Pizzazz, Digital Storytelling, and Multimedia Classroom 101. Also, our school district is upgrading to Office 2007 and many teachers are experiencing culture shock due to the fact that we are changing from Office 2000 to 2007. Many are confused about new programs and operating systems - Vista, Office 2007, and Internet Explorer 7. Is anyone else going through these growing pains, too? I'll be presenting a session at AETC - Multimedia Classroom 101. Hope to see you all there! ~ Rhonda Clark, Cherokee County

I sent a note to Kathy Rains about who to contact to get us 2 concurrent sessions, (one on Monday and one on Tuesday). I didn't give them a title or anything--just told them it would be a sharing session of technology training ideas, technology integration, etc. I'll post anything that I hear from her.

I will be at AETA, too. Lynette, I got your draft of the mission statement. I like it - it's to the point. I will compare it with what I have and get back to you.

I am planning on being at AETA, who else will be there? Is there a plan for a meeting time and place? Back to school has been hectic for me as I expect for everyone else. Contact with others who are doing the same job has been an encouragement to me. Thanks to everyone.

Sounds like we have the ball rolling!!! This is exciting. I do plan on attending the AETA fall conference and I think that would be a great time for us to get together. I would have populated some info on the discussion page but I have been swamped and I leave tomorrow for San Diego (NECC). It wouldn't be so bad but I am having to pack for the whole "Hee-Haw" gang (five of us). I will be thinking of some suggestions for the "mission statement". Also, I think we need some basic discussions posted (those that we listed in our meeting) before we start publicizing this wiki. What are your thoughts?

I talked to Leslie again before leaving AETC and Susan Polling has OK'd us using the listserv to publicize the new AL-ITS group. I also spoke to Kathy Rains yesterday, and she encourages all of us to join AETA and that we should use the AETA listserv, rather than creating a new one, so that others may benefit from our postings. She says that there are many systems out there that wear all hats and that they would enjoy learning ideas from us. She also encouraged us to attend AETA Fall session and she said that there are many professional development ideas discussed during these AETA sessions. I will talk to her again about getting on the program to have a "sharing session" for all of us interested in technology professional development.

I talked to Leslie Cash and asked her to check on us using the AETA listserv to get the word out about the ITS group. She is also checking on starting our own listserv for instructional technology. I will talk to Kathy Rains before leaving AETC about becoming a special interest group of AETA or something similar.

Lynette and I are brainstorming ideas on a "mission statement" and should have a proposal soon. Any suggestions are welcome. -Rhonda Clark
